Cosmic strings, inflation, and gravity waves

چکیده
We investigate the impact of Coleman-Weinberg inflation on stochastic gravity wave background spectrum emitted by intermediate-scale cosmic strings. The string network is partially inflated and reenters horizon at later times after end inflation, such that short loops are not produced. This leads to a significant modification we explore in detail. find can help satisfy Parkes Pulsar Timing Array (PPTA) bound for dimensionless tension values range $G\ensuremath{\mu}>1.1\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{\ensuremath{-}10}$. also identify modified spectra which, case compatible with North American Nanohertz Observatory Gravitational Waves (NANOGrav) data. then discuss formation monopoles strings same breaking scale compatibility Monopole, Astrophysics Cosmic Ray (MACRO) PPTA bound, NANOGrav Finally, an example realistic nonsupersymmetric ${E}_{6}$ model incorporating successful presented which both survive present observable level.

Cosmic strings and strings in gravitational waves
We consider strings with the Nambu action as extremal surfaces in a given space-time, thus, we ignore their back reaction. Especially, we look for strings sharing one symmetry with the underlying space-time. If this is a non-null symmetry, the problem of determining the motion of the string can be dimensionally reduced. We get exact solutions for the following cases: straight and circle-like st...
متن کاملGravity Waves and String Inflation
We present a simple mechanism for obtaining large-field inflation, and hence a gravitational wave signature, from string theory compactified on twisted tori. For Nil manifolds, we obtain a leading inflationary potential proportional to φ in terms of the canonically normalized field φ, yielding predictions for the tilt of the power spectrum and the tensor-to-scalar ratio, ns ≈ 0.98 and r ≈ 0.04 ...
متن کاملInflation and Nonsingular Spacetimes of Cosmic Strings
Inflation of cosmic gauge and global strings is investigated by numerically solving the combined Einstein and field equations. Above some critical symmetry-breaking scales, the strings undergo inflation along the radial direction as well as the axial direction at the core. The nonsingular nature of the spacetimes around supercritical gauge and global strings is discussed and contrasted to the s...
متن کاملGravitational Waves from Cosmic Strings
Gravitational waves from cosmic strings are generated in the first fractions of a second after the Big Bang, potentially providing a unprecedented probe of the early universe. We discuss the key dynamical processes underlying calculations of the stochastic background produced by a string network and we detail the parameter dependencies of the resulting spectral density Ωgr(f). The present const...
متن کاملFitting cosmic microwave background data with cosmic strings and inflation.
We perform a multiparameter likelihood analysis to compare measurements of the cosmic microwave background (CMB) power spectra with predictions from models involving cosmic strings. Adding strings to the standard case of a primordial spectrum with power-law tilt ns, we find a 2sigma detection of strings: f10=0.11+/-0.05, where f10 is the fractional contribution made by strings in the temperatur...
